Biography:

Dillon Blevins is a passionate conservative who grew up in Clermont County (District 62) where he attended Goshen Local Schools K-12 and college in Batavia (UC Clermont) before graduating from Northern Kentucky University with his Bachelor’s Degree. He has owned and operated a small construction company here where they near 1 million annually and provide jobs to over 20 contractors in the area. Dillon also served in the US Army Reserves. Dillon has proven ability to lead and succeed. He will bring this energy and integrity to the Statehouse.

What are your three most important policy priorities? What do you hope will be the impact of implementing these policies?

-Repeal Ohio’s Income Tax: The government has proven incapable of using our tax dollars wisely. It’s time to put the money back into the pockets of those who earned it.

-Overhaul Ohio’s Labor Regulations: For too long only a few large construction companies in the area have been able to bid on government contracted work for cities, townships, villages etc. While my opponent is funded by large labor unions, and would work to protect their interests, I would focus on Ohioan’s interests and would work to with my colleagues in Columbus to pass legislation that would allow for more small businesses to compete for government contracts. This will drive up wages for Ohioan’s and cut government spend at the same time.

-A Republican That Won’t Embarrass You: Make no mistake. I am a pro-life conservative but I do not believe that pregnancy from rape is an “opportunity” for women as my opponent stated. I do not believe we need to ban gay marriage or contraceptives. I am an economic focused Republican who wants to help the hard working Ohioan’s who are struggling under Joe Biden’s economy. I do not plan to focus on banning condoms or making teenage victims of rape carry babies to term under the threat of conviction under Ohio law. Good grief Jean Schmidt.

If elected, what will be your approach to engage with constituents and businesses to gather input on legislative/policy decisions?

My approach will always be to engage constituents and to get as much feedback as possible. During this campaign we have engaged voters door-to-door, have offered an open to the public “meet the candidate night”, have made hundreds of phone calls and are continuing to find ways to engage constituents. I also plan to keep my social media up once I am elected.

In your opinion, what are the two most important challenges facing our county and how do you propose to address them?

-Economy: By overhauling labor laws to benefit small businesses and by cutting the income tax, we can make Ohio the most desirable place to do business in the United States.

-Election Integrity: We must limit and secure voting by mail and ballot drop boxes from ballot harvesters. Campaign finance laws also need to be reviewed and improved to prevent collusion of candidates and dark money when bribery is involved.

How do you plan to address regulatory challenges that local businesses face? Are there specific regulations or policies you would advocate in order to streamline business operations?

Change the prevailing wage requirement threshold from the $250,000 requirement to $3,000,000 to allow for more small construction companies to bid and win government contracts.

How do you plan to address infrastructure needs in our region, such as transportation, broadband, and utilities, to support business growth?

Getting money in the budget for our district will be a high priority. My opponent is currently censored by the Ohio GOP Caucus along with 21 other Republicans who worked with Democrats to elect Jason Stephens as speaker. This is why the current funding package passed by the House is being held up by the Senate. When Jean voted with Democrat’s to elect Stephens as speaker, she effectively killed her relationship with the Ohio GOP Caucus. I will work to restore that relationship to our district’s benefit.

What strategies do you propose to enhance workforce development and address any skills gaps in our community?

Education reform to teach young men and women how to start their own business. When people can work for themselves, they find passion. When they find passion, they become skilled. We lack skilled workers because the skilled trade job market doesn’t offer the incentive to do it. There are too many dead end career paths offered by multi billion dollar companies who have limited competition due to regulations.

What measures do you propose to attract new businesses and encourage entrepreneurship locally?

When we have strong conservative leadership running the Ohio Statehouse again, Ohio will be a better place to do business everywhere including here in Clermont County.

As a member of an elected body, how would you work with your colleagues to build relationships and build consensus for your ideas?

I will work with the GOP Caucus, not against them, to pass conservative legislation.
